Nora Turns Three (in May)

When you are talking about the number of pennies or M&M's you have, the difference between two and three probably doesn't seem like that much. But when you are talking about the age of your baby girl, the difference of one (year) seems like a whole bunch.

For her birthday we tied balloons to her chair in the morning and served yummy breakfast complete with sunglasses (which was more to try to keep mine fingerprint-free for more than a day than to actually provide her with sun protection).

Then after we got the boys off to school we headed for the swimming pool, just the two of us. It was a nice quiet morning at the usually noisy and crazy pool. No loud water apparatus. No giant bucket unpredictably dumping large quantities of water on unsuspecting children. Just fun.

Delicious cupcakes dollars dinner with yummy eat-straight-from-the-bowl pink buttercream frosting. Then off to bed on time. No staying up late privileges for three year olds in this house.

I recently attended Women's Conference at BYU. A great many pearls of wisdom were bestowed there, but I keep coming back to one: we are privileged to know our children as children. Most of their lives will be spent as adults. Most of their relationships will be with people who only know them as adults. I feel very privileged to know this woman as a little girl. She is bright and enthusiastic. Friendly and stubborn. Compassionate and passionate.

Oh, and she loves stickers.

She is yummy! I would be scared to see her and Emma together. It would be quite the mischief party!
